BEST FOR: street photography, overcast weather, architecture, industrial environments, city nights, signs and neon, and photographers deliberately looking for less conventionally polished color.
SCHMOZ TAKE: Vetrokam 400 has strong bluish tones yet with warm grays, and a relatively subdued saturation. It feels urban and a little raw. Perfect for cityscapes- e.g., traffic lights, steel, pavements, signs, and the people moving through them. The shots can look a bit sinister cold and moody like a David Fincher film, but in certain scenes, warmer colors like reds and yellows, and human subjects can stand out against a cooler palette or a more subdued backdrop. Lastly, its grain becomes more noticeable as the light drops. That's why for an ISO 400, it is so fun to shoot at night, and quite perfect at dusk. If you like photographs that feel moody, unmistakably analogue, and slightly rough around the edges, Vetrokam 400 is worth a roll. This stock is a SCHMOZ FAVORITE! Try it for yourself.
